I have 2 Labs, my 3. and 4.I grew up with a Lab. Nowadays people soay and netter their dog at a very youbg age because they cannot Controller the behaviozr. I am not a big Fan of spaying and neutering. What happened to paying attention to what your dog does so that there are no unwanted matings. Basedow on research soay/netter is harmuful to the dogs heakth. And this is true not a fairytale or rumpur. I gave my dogs from breeders who think like me. My digs are also very beautiful Show dog specimen. Not all dogs Match the Standard nor are they healthy. Very few dogs are really great specimen pedigree pets.

Hey, you mention types of grooming combs to use for Labradors but not once do you bother to show examples of these combs. Disappointing video.

top channal, ime goin over you again, though last year i lost my baby chocy lab as his front legs went on him , i had him for 11 years togeter all day every day, they are so lovin and now ime so lonly with out him so soon i am planing on a second chocy lab next year.

My lab weighs 16 kilos at 9 months. She weighed 1.7 kilos at 12 weeks. She is my absolute companion, and I walk her twice a day. She had a 50/50 chance of survival according to my vet and I fed her 6 times a day when small. She is so affectionate and we love each other. She has elbow dysplasia, but I have insurance. I don't regret for one minute rescuing my Minnie Dog. x

Hi. I have a lab who is a good dog for the most part and good with my kids EXCEPT he barks his brains out aggressively at kids and people walking strollers outside my fence. He won’t come when called and if you get close to him he dodges, runs and barks more. I’ve had to lasso him like a cow girl just to get him to sit still for a second. I hate disciplining my dog. He’s so cute when there’s no small people outside my fence but we are thinking he’s anxious and needs to live on a remote farm somewhere that doesn’t have kid pedestrians. Any suggestions I would appreciate. Thanks

When I got my dog, I wouldn't praise him for doing his business outside, but instead, I marked and rewarded the action. He got it within a week, but there were still accidents here and there. He's 9 months old and not my first dog, but he still has accidents whenever I take him to my mums house and even show him where to do his business. The "break" command is also really easy to train and takes a couple of days in some cases. I even use it whenever I let him off his lead, but it did take him a little while to understand that that command allows him to have some freedom as it was mainly used for allowing him access to his food.

From point 4: not all labs have a friendly and trusting nature. My 9 month old absolutely loved people up until he hit 6 months old and now he'd rather keep his distance and even try to run away from strangers. There are times where he'll meet someone totally new and he will be perfectly fine with them and show no signs of being fearful, BUT then another stranger can come along and he can't wait to get away from them. Not all Labrador tails are thick, those with thick tails have a higher COI than my dog. My lab is KC registered (which makes him "pedigree"), but his tail is thin and has a slight curl at the end. He's also quite trim and muscular when most people's aren't. I have seen a few labs in my area that look healthy, but you can't see their muscles. Mine also won't retrieve anything outdoors and it's too late to teach him to play fetch. I've tried quite a few times and he's not interested. He will chase a ball around the house though, but it's just never clicked with him when I've tried playing outdoors with him.

Hi We have two labs brother & sister same litter just over a year old. We gate our adolescent pups when we go out, for an hour or a few hours. They are now pushing through the gates to have the run if the house. They then always chew one item even though they have long toys and are on the kitchen. Our pups don’t try to go through any door closed it’s just very open plan in the main part of our house. We take away things that we don’t want to chew however we can’t move main furniture. On their own they are fine to have the foam if the house they are very good. Together like kids they get up to stuff to impress each other I’m sure. This does only happen when we are out not when we’re in the house.

Ha! I know shedding.... I've had 4 labs (3 black, 1 chocolate) and 3 German Shepherds. For me, the love I got was worth every hair.

I have a serious question; first time owner of 4 1/2 old chocolate Labrador. He is very trained for example he knows all basic commands, loves his crate. When I got him the previous owner showed me pictures of him socializing in restaurants and parks with him, but now he’s with me I can’t take him any where because when he sees someone or another dog he leaps and will bark uncontrollably hair standing up.. never bites just circles the dog or person barking uncontrollably. As soon as this person says his name or even says want to play he quits and starts wagging his tail. He does have no problem with some family pets two pugs and the vets big girl Doberman. Please help! He’s such a good boy who truly loves people.

I'm really struggling with getting my lab to pay attention to me whenever he sees another dog, his highest motivator is playing with other dogs, even a sharp tug on the slip lead doesn't stop him.

My yellow lab was the absolute BEST dog ever. She was super athletic (bred from champion gmhr bloodlines),she was calm when she needed to be but had tons of energy too. She wasn't aggressive ever and definitely wouldn't scare anyone away trying to rob us. But she loved water. She would swim forever if you let her. She loved to run and fly into the water, which damaged her elbows. She also got frequent ear infections which wasnt fun. She loved to jump, which led to straining her acl. She was never a destructive chewer even with her own toys. She would run for hours and then run some more, and then when you thought she was good,she'd want to fetch for another 90mins. She was over 100lbs of love and floof. She was the best most well behaved ppl pleasing dog I have ever owned and would get embarrassed about things. Our black lab (bred from pedigreed labs but not hunting dogs) is...wild. like Marley and me wild at times. She is destructive and loves to eat rocks and sticks. She barks and whines and pulls and chews and...man. she's a handful but we love her and work with her to help her be a good girl. She loves her ppl and will follow you all over the place,sit behind you silently so you almost fall over her. She's under 50lbs but it feels like she's 200lbs at times. Our son is 6 and goes between thinking she's awesome and thinking she "needs to go away". She is scary and definitely would scare someone away. She doesn't give any f's what anyone thinks. Labs are amazing dogs for the right ppl. Most ppl would have gotten rid of our black lab but we chose her and it's our job to give her an amazing life filled with patience and love (and lots of chimken)
